The following is a list of all entries from the Dinner category.
This post is dedicated to mi padre, whose favourite saying is current;y “didn’t have that when I was a kid.” Its quick and easy, I didn’t even have to press the tofu because grilling it on the barbie seems to dry it out pretty well.

It’s been a long hard week. I had to put Ella to sleep, which was one of the hardest things I’ve ever had to do. I am still adjusting to life without her, it’s slightly lonely and feels like I’ve lost a limb.
If deep fried avocadoes hasn’t been a food trend yet, it’s going to [...]
I don’t know how posting is going to happen this week. I’m interning tomorrow, taking the 2am train to NY that gets in at 6 am Weds morning, heading straight to orientation from 7-4, then hopping on a bus home to get in late Weds night. Followed by more commuting and interning 9-5s on Thursday [...]
I’ve been a bit lazy about blogging lately, and I apologize. I’ve been busy interning, studying, and waitressing. I am reallllly looking forward to having a lie in tomorrow and making a nice breakfast.. maybe with some ramps, which I just bought after hearing ramp rumours from my brother. I’ve never had them before, [...]
Fortunately for me, I am not Italian, not even a drop. I am English- in all of my pasty and reserved glory. I say fortunately because tonight I committed the ultimate sacrilege, I made Spaghetti Bolognese with fake meat, and it’s not the first time. It was good fake meat too, Gimme Lean Ground Beef [...]
Its that time again- Burger Fest. A chance for vegetarians to shine, to prove that we don’t only eat rabbit food, yes, we too can eat massive patties with oozing cheese, barbecue sauce and various other layers of yumminess. This was the second annual burger fest, and I have to admit it was a [...]
Celebrating Cinqo de Mayo has become the new St Patricks Day- just as the non-Irish drink green beer and eat corned beef, the non Latinos drink Margaritas and eat burritos. And why not? Celebrations are fun, and so are margaritas.
So here’s to Cinqo de Mayo!!!! Bug off Arizonians (not all of you, just the racists).
I’ve been wanting to try fresh garbanzos (or chickpeas) for a very long time. They were on a long list of weird vegetables that I have been aching to get my hands on, along with fiddleheads, kumatoes (still looking for those), and all edible blossoms (I’ve only managed to try chive flowers and zucchini blossoms… [...]
I had grand plans- I envisioned alternating layers or thingly sliced purple and golden beets, dotted with goat cheese and fresh basil over golden puff pastry.
The oven was on and I was about to wrap up my beets, before realizing they were huge! “They’ll never cook, I had better chop them up.” So i [...]
Yes, yes we all know that roasting makes vegetables delicious. Roasted cauliflower and broccoli have been all over foodgawker, tastespotting, and photograzing for months, and I am finally giving up and posting about it. To make this post slightly innovate, I mixed the breaded cauliflower with balsamic capers (haha)!!!! Inspiration for this post came from [...]
