About Me

Hello!  My name is Claire, you may know me as Clairol, King of all Claire Claires.  I am an ardent tea drinker, cheese enthusiast, wine buff, animal lover, and shovelbum.   My interests are teeth and bones, medical and biological anthropology, and believe it or not… cooking.  I love to read, run, ride my bike, play tennis, and spend time with my animals.

The recipes on this site are all vegetarian friendly, and if you so chose (by omitting optional cheese toppings), they can be vegan friendly as well, but please note that I harbor no ill-feelings towards the carnies, especially those that buy their meat and fish ethically.  If recipes are merely adaptations I will always cite where the original recipe came from, if I have not, please let me know. The photographs on this site are taken by me, unless they look fantastic, in which case they have probably been taken by my wonderful boyfriend, Jon.

Previously, my food blabbering was stationed at http://thelonelybean.blogspot.com.  Here you can find all of my old recipes in a shabbier abode (but it did have a new Darth Vader Quote every time the page was refreshed, which was pretty cool).

So, what is the lonely bean all about? It’s a dubious quandary, really. It all started many years ago, when I left one (HEINZ) baked bean behind, just to peeve off my Mum. Since then, it has become a tradition every time to leave a bean. Is it a lonely bean? Or a bean that has a chance at escape? I don’t know.
