Cakes on a Plane, Superdog

This weekend was the first time I saw Jon since before his birthday.  I like to make him a cake for his bday.  The first one was a zombie cake, then a chola cake, and now a Spaghetti and Meatball cake.  So far, none have trumped the zombie cake (see favourite photos).  But to be fair, I was very rushed before hand and got tired of rolling out fondant >:O

I made two chocolate cakes, sandwiched with white icing.  The spaghetti was created with store bought fondant, tossed with chopped up chocolate meat balls, raspberry coulis for the meat sauce, mint leaves as the fresh basil, and shaved white chocolate as the parmesan.

After making it I hopped on a plane to Virginia, cake in hand in a large Cadbury’s roses tin. I thought that airport security might try and chop it in half to look for bombs, but they didn’t even give it a second look!

Because the cake didn’t present such a nice picture, here is Bosco looking like a super dog during his first trip to the beach.

Also this weekend was Burgerfest X!!! Photos to come shortly, as soon as my beloved boyfriend who I love very much sends them to me (hint, hint).

Mmmmm. That cake is still in the fridge being devoured one day at a time! :)

The key to any man’s heart is a well made cake. And Claire one ups herself year after year! Well done love!

P.S. – Burger photos will be sent ASAP!

Awesome cake! I would also like to point out that I absolutely love your dog’s name, Bosco. It just reminds me of Seinfeld and makes me laugh out loud. He’s pretty darn cute too!

Thanks everyone!! Jon had Bosco before I met him, so I am more of a stepmum and sadly can’t take credit for naming him.
